too much blue takes the focus off the green stem and i think you realised it yourself since you felt compelled to specify in your title what is complimentary here.
focus needs work.

There is more blue than green, and I feel that this lets the photo down for this challenge.

Excellent, but the blue dominates here, effectively making this a three-color composition. Still an excellent photograph and somewhat meets the challenge so it will get a good score from me.

Good composition and angle. A bit soft though. Seems that it may have been handheld or that it was a bit windy.

Needs a reflector (or fill flash) to lighten up the bottom of the flower and the stem.

2 - Despite your 'plainly written' title, the blue is the dominant color here. 'DMC' enough in my opinion. Perhaps a more finely tuned crop, not sure. Maybe if you had shifted the hue in pp, made the tulip orange... who knows.
