It's pure coincidence that this challenge came up at the same time that I bought the kids the most orange goldfish at the shop :) Inspired by Larus and terje whose images I studied before attempting this shot. Really would've loved to do some advanced editing on this if only to remove the sharpening artifacts and stray bubbles but thats another story.

Thanks for all the comments....a new record for my non-ribbon winning entries.

I like it. Might hve been stronger with the 'bottom' of the splash being more in frame and less blue 'above'.

unitneresting title and composition needs work but its fits the challenge and the focus is perfect. what were you going for? 7 for an overall ok photo.

Good concept but there's a touch too much blur on the fish for my taste.

Is this a real fish? I like the photo, but I hope that there was no animal cruelty involved!

I actually had to look at it 3 times before I realised it was actually taken up the other way!!!

It looks great! The colours are bold and it is an interesting subject.

This is a very neat idea for the people that don't know how to do this and the effect of the fish jumping out of the water is awesome.

I like the water ...the fish isn't detailed enough to make it worth throwing around a fish

Few spots either in the water or on the glass but a very convincing illusion otherwise and a fun image.

2 - Ok. Colors seem quite good, the stop motion, whilst showing an unusual 'flow', is not as sharp as it would need to be for a shot like this to work best, in my opinion. However, will be back PC to see how you got this fish out of the water.

So how many times did you have to drop the fish in the water!? Great photo and capture of the splash

This is brilliant (assuming no electricity was actually used :). Excellent title, beautiful colours and I am totally unbothered by the slightly blurred fish. Great work

Maybe crop the splash drops from the bottom, er top, so the looks more like a jump instead of an rotated drop. First glance I thought it was jumping from a spoon. Ha!

Edit: Crop not cop. Freudian slip?

I love this image. I took me a minute to figure out what was going on. Great illustartive look. I'd like the entire composition shifted downward slightly to see a little more of the splash at the bottom of the image and a little less of the negative space above. The splash seems like part of the subject and it bothers my eye that it breaks the bottom of the page. Just some subjective nitpicking though. Great job.

A little overprocessed (blown spots on water and noise on the fish.) Nonetheless, great catch at the "exit" moment. 8
