I originally took this picture with the "Window Framed" challenge in mind, but I'm not a full member yet, so I couldn't submit. That's why the picture is composed through the fence. But, the red/green contrast works for this challenge too. This is my first submission to DPChallenge. I'm just starting to play with editing.
I am using GIMP 2.0 as my editor. For this photo, I cropped it a little, did some USM, tweaked brightness/contrast, tweaked the red and green with the hue/saturation tool. Re-sized to 640 pixels, did just a little sharpening, and saved it optimized for just under 150 kb. I tried to follow the tutorial for preparing images for submission.
This is my son's little league game on the morning of Saturday, April 22, 2006. He's the catcher in this shot.
I gladly welcome any comments/tips on this photo, as I really do enjoy photography and want to get much better.

I think that this would have been an ineresting shot for the framing challenge. Keep shooting, if you have any photoshop questions feel free to ask me, I'm happy to give a tip or two. (expert level ps 7-9) |

It looks outside!! :)
The fence is a real distraction in this image. The contrast between the green grass and orange/red batters plate works really well for the challenge and you've avoided blowing highlights in the sky but it's just that fence. Maybe a different angle to shoot from may of helped up your score a bit. Keep it up! |

Nice shot; it's a shame about the fence though. I'd have loved to see this a moment sooner with him swinging the bat. I shoot a lot of baseball, though, and I know it's hard to get the timing. |

Nice composition, would have like it better without the fence of course. Good example of complemantary colours. |

Good job capturing the action! Maybe a bit more saturation would help bring the colours out. |

2 - Bit of a stretch. Would like to have seen the color schemes dominate in this shot, rather than the ball play. Looks more orange to me - which would go well with the blue in the distance - but your call. |
