Clever idea executed well.
I'd like to see more contrast, and not such a dark b/g - seems very blown-out in the original. This suggests lighting was not perfect.
I think it could have been improved had the dof been greater, so that the face (real face, not the printout) wasn't OOF.
All in all, I think the b/g could have been chosen better, but the idea was great, and title cool, and it scored well

| Clever idea well-executed. I like the clean/simple background (although I think the horizonal bar would look better if it were lower in the picture to use the rule of thirds and to have relatively more of the dark reflective background bureau (?) mirror that gives added punch and contrast). I love the blue tones generally, too. |

I don't get why folks couldn't figure out how this was done without requesting validation, but take comfort in the knowledge it wasn't just yours - seems everyone who did something like this had "validated" on their entry. Extra point for the clever title and overall creativity.
I did the "invert" thing on this during the challenge voting and would have preferred it in more natural tones. I realize you probably did the saturation thing to give it more "spark", though. I suspect a less cluttered background might have helped a bit too. Overall, I like the concept behind the picture, and you pulled it off pretty well. |

this is a very interesting image, the idea is godd, but you could play a little more with the setup to make the image pop.
those horizontal lines that are spliting the image are leaning a bit, that makes the image out of balance, and they could be a bit lower in the image, so that the top line would be where the bottom line is now, then the image would have the base at the rule of thirds and would make the image stronger.
another go would be to crop the image just above the eyebrow, then the mirror would be at the rule of thirds focal point, since the hair is too white to show any real details the image would benefit from it being cropped away.
and those small blue lines behind the mirror are really distracting, I know you couldn't do anything in basic editing, but you can now.

hello,
i actually liked this photo a lot. i thought you did a great job. it is very deservant of the placement. maybe even a bit higher.
my only thought is, not that it matters, why is it blue? uncertain ifn a differing color would have been better.
overall a very well done image. |

| I wouldn't have thought to ask for validation, because it seems pretty clear how this was done. My opinion only of course, but this is more clever than creative, for me. There's little to be said compositionally, photographically, etc., apart, perhaps, from the fact that the inverted portions create interesting shapes throughout: the dark area, the bright area (maybe a bit too bright), the bluer area. I think you met the challenge well. |

Very creative. The really bright white of the hair seems to pop out at me first though. Once I get past that the image is sharp, nice composition. |

In general, it looks like it served you pretty well. The image doesn't really appeal to me that much, but it is a clever technique, and I probably would have given you a 6 or 7. While I like blue skies, blue images just don't appeal to me for some reason, and there's a lot of blue here. Excellent idea, and well done. |

I am surprised that it didn't do better. This is definitely one of the most creative shots of the challenge. The composition is very nice and the lighting looks great for a negative image. The brightness of your hair is a bit overbearing, but not enough that I would have voted low. I didn't vote in this challenge, but this would have been in the 7 range for me. Nice work and awesome creativity. |
