this window is balanced on these rocks. it has been sitting in my attic for a few years awaiting the spotlight - hopefully this will allow this humble window that I founf in the garbage on the curb to get its 15 minutes of fame. I used the flash and had to remove a little highlight and corrected the shadow from the wide lens, shharpened and un noised also used a little hint of filter to get a dreamier look - my original intention was to get an impossible window view - turns out that this seemed cooler.

Interesting lighting, I'm presuming you used flash. The windowframe in nature can be a bit cliched here, and I'm not sure you've made this less than gratuitous.

I like the floating frame. The broken glass and peeling paint just adds more to it. It might be a touch dark for some, but I appreciate its moodiness and find the whole image quite appealing. 8

lighting seems a little uneven on the right side. i like it, but it would have been even better if you had managed to get the bird in the frame, too. 7

Very well done. The lighting in front of the window casts and odd pall over the foreground, but it still works.

love the lighting that you used ... perhaps might have worked better with a square crop

Just got back from Fla. the day this challenge was due, and all I thought about was the 3 old window frames like this one that I had sitting in my gararge. Didn't have time to make it happen, but glad someone did...and did a damned good job of it at that! One of my fav's!! Great job!! "10" from me.

Good composition and landscape. The light gives the image a "nostalgic" view that I like

I really like this photo and the creative direction you took with it. The composition and color pallete work well for me. However, the focus seems a tad soft in all areas and the lighting appears to be distributed unevenly to create shadowing in some areas while appearing harsh in others. Nice shot nonetheless... my vote is a 7

Outside the box works in this challenge, but the subject is supposed to be framed by the window. Are the rocks your subject?
