As I have said in one of your previous photos, your eyes make so much more out of your self portraits. Unfortunately this one has lost just a bit in that your eye is slightly out of focus here. Would be fantastic if your eye was as sharp as your hair. Great composition, and again, effective emotion in the eyes.

You have a gift, Young Lady. This photo really accents your lovely hair. :)

I actually like the soft focus as it creates a sense of mystery for me. It feels like the eye is pulling me into the shot.

Warm regards from the Critique Club!

First impressions make a great deal in a photograph, at least to my way of thinking. My first impression is that the image is out of focus. Soft focus is one thing, but with the hair being in focus, sharply so, it makes the face look out of focus.

Of critical importance is the eye. Having that element out of focus makes the image seem somewhat vague. If the entire image had a soft focus to it this could have a dreamlike effect, but that is not the case here.

I like the composition a lot - I think the main thing here would be to experiment more with your depth of field and plane of focus - everything else looks really good to me.

Take care,
Rich.

I like this idea - but the soft focus is too much for me. Good composition!

I like this composition a lot, but it's a shame this one isn't sharp. It looks like you blurred too much or used NeatImage a bit too much.

Looks to me like your focal point is just a touch off. Her hair looks nicely focused but her eye is soft which is backward... I love soft focus effects but this looks awkward with the sharp hair...

Overall a nicely done pic. I do find the noise reduction or whatever smoothing that was applied overdone. And going for this type of crop perhaps if the model's head was titled just a tad to her left for an even split.

I love the idea and the composition but a little too far on the smoothing of the skin for me. There is something odd looking about the edge between the skin and the dark portion of the hair that I find distracting.

If only the eye were in focus, this would be a very good image. However it is not so this really crashes and burns with that... Shame, I like the composition and colorization of this.

too smooth ? or out of focus ? hmmmm difficult to determine. I would have liked a sharper focus on eys and more details...

I like the composition but not the soft focus. Just my opinion though. Good luck.

Who dares to kill such a beauty ?
I think making this photo sharp would look much better (even though it won't fit the title)

I think this could have been a little better with the focus on her eye. With the nice green color of her eye, I just think it would have popped a little more than with the focus at her hair.

Being this close, the focus on the eye should be tack sharp. The postprocessing made her skin look fake.

A little to softly. I would have liked to seen more detail, someone so young has nothing neat image needs to cover.

Not good focus

I like the idea of the image but the post processing is a little heavy for my liking. The hair looks really in focus, but the face seems a little soft (maybe do to the processing).

I like this shot but to my taste the focus is a little too soft or Noise reduction a little too strong.

Too blurry/soft. Needs sharpness in her eyes.

Looks quite overprocessed to me...nice composition otherwise...focus point seems to be on the hair and not the eye

Nice, would have loved some more sharpness in her eye and hair and lipps.

This has a great concept but I think you killed it too much with the softness. I think you over used NI. The focus is soft everywhere except for the hair. I wish the eyes were sharp at least.

I wish the focus were on the eye and not her hair. She's lovely.

I'm just not a fan of the whole "split face" movement. Sorry...
