I bought a remote control shutter release just for this. As usual, didfficult to cull, but I realised I had to do a reshoot and get myself farther away from the wall. Natural and diffused light from the windows, plus the overhead room light (though I don't know if it contributed anything).
A bit of dodge and burn, and cloned out some hair sticking up from the top (thank goodness for advanced editing).

Funny shot and creative thinking. The background is a bit distracting overall. I am learning that doing self portraits is a unique challnge all its own. Good shot.

In my first shoot, I was too close to the wall. So I tried again, further away from the wall, but was still constrained by the room size. It was really bright on the right side of the photo, so I did quite a bit of dodging there.

With any portrait, the thing I look for first is whether or not the photographer captured some "personality" - I'd say you've got that covered! Uh, pun not exactly intended... The expression is priceless, colors are good. Further away from the background would be nice, or a bit darker background to set off the tent more, maybe. Really a very fun shot - nice job!

Interesting idea...the white on the white background definitely needs some backdrop lighting or some distance...

Good creative effort though

The left side of your "headgear" seems to blend into the background a little, at least on this monitor, so moving a bit more away from the wall may have helped, adding a bit more light on that side may have helped too.

I would have scored this a lot higher if you just had the actual lights on either side! :-)

You should have moved the person closer to you, away from the background wall to make it more blurry/out of focus. Cool idea.
