 Jolly Roger Pier on Topsail Island, NC. Taken at dusk - experimented with a number of different settings and exposure lengths. I kinda like the results.

lighting/exposure
dodge/burn brush
transparency brush
meloncholy filter
neat image
blend/clone brush to clean up a few spots
save for web

Very DPC friendly image here. Nice lines and colors. Definitely gave it kind of an old time feel with the post processing. Your work continues to get better and better. You have always done such great work without the best technology (although I see that you have a DSLR now).

Congrats on a top 20! At first look I was bothered by the oof portion on the left forground. As I reviewed them for voting, I realized it actually was an important part of the composition (intentional?) It sets up an 'emergence' sort of feel. The colors and the subtle changes and flow in the shot are excellent!! From gray sky at top down through the soft pastels of the sky to the water and beach is one of the nicest transitional flows of color and contrast - definitely at the right place at the right time. Well done!! Very nice capture!!!

The colors seem to be off and the left side is considerably darker than the rest of the shot, especially in the top left corner.

The sky comes on well, the water is too green for me though. (Although the green tone does fit the orange in the sky). I am guessing you implemented a kind of gradient filter or atmosphere filter on this?
