Greetings from the Critique Club...
Hi colda :)
Unfortunately, I'm a bad source for critique on studio type portraits. I don't do any of them myself and I prefer natural light and candid portraiture...
My opinion on this one is that there is a bit of 'busy-ness' about it. The light/dark contrasts are somewhat overwhelming in some places, especially around the hands and in the lower portion of the frame. The composition here feels cramped and it make me think your subject is squeezed into a box looking out. The area around the earring on the right looks a little (very slightly) washed out, maybe from the dodge tool.
I agree with the comment made here about black and white. I believe this particular image would be stronger that way since it's fairly monochromatic to start with. I generally prefer black and whites anyway, so that's just my subconscious babbling :)

I like the photo; however, it doesn't have a lot of color... I like a lot of color... just a preference, no indication of how bad, or good, your photo is. |
