I really like this picture! I like how the man in the back is in focus, and the child is blurred. I really feel like for this challenge the bars being blurred does not help. (In any other challenge I wouldn't have cared really) Great photo though! |

This is a great idea and nice find....I think for this challenge you should have focus more ont he structure(s) providing the angles and let the people and the BF fall where they may. |

almost too subtle for most DPCers. bet you're getting comments like "where're the right angles?" I like it, either way. only thing I'd change if I could is the flare onthe blurry kid's head. It's a bit distracting, taking away from the cool old guy on the bench. I like the presence of the kid, he's just a bit too prominent with the sun on his head. |

A picture with an out of focus foreground is usually unappealing to human eye - In my opinion foreground should be blurred only if you want it to be insignificant |

Is there a reason you wanted the young child fuzzy? To me the strenght of the photo is not the right angles but the relationship or lack of between the people in it. It is one of those photos that makes you wonder about the people. |

I would have liked to see the focus on the boy in front. I think that would have given a different mood to the picture, a sense of the boy looking through the fence or railing, to what lies ahead in the journey of life. Very nice capture. |

I really like this photo and the off-angle frame that defines it. Nicely done. However, the theme of this challenge was "Create a photograph where right angles produce the strength of the image." The out of focus fence/rail is not the strength of this image. It is an interesting element -- providing a metaphoric barrier between the young and the old -- a metaphysical generation gap. Hmm. maybe it is the strength of the image, or at least a key element. |
