 Some of you might recognize the model, his name is Oli Geir and I have three shots of him in my portfolio in the "people" section. One of my favorite shots that I have submitted here at DPC is my Silhouettes II shot so I wanted to submit a follow up shot, like in a series so this is shot at the same location, just about a year later but at the other side of the court, this is the basket opposite the one I used as a backround in the silhouettes shot. Wanted the post processing to be similar to that one because of that.

Lighting is ambient and as a fill light I used a bowens 500 head with a 60x60cm softbox, I did a couple of cool silhouettes shots too but they seemed more cliche so this got entered instead. Dramatically increased the contrast of the sky with a selective curves adjustment. Decreased the saturation and increased the contrast. A little burning of the basket and the foreground and sharpened after resizing. Taken at 24mm from the ground, I was literally lying flat and resting my head on the ground to seemingly increase the jump.

The title is borrowed from one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs.

this is my vote for a ribbon, it's just incredible! my only concern is the apparent over-saturation of red, most notable on the pole and hoop. Good Luck!

9 - Excellent shot. Colors and tonings (effects?) work very well here. Lighting makes the drama too. Perhaps the only thing would be bottom left darker area and the slightly blown(?)/something/loss of detail in areas on the face, but difficult. Like the rotate/angle. Power lines definitely add in this shot, in my opinion.
