 Challenge Entry no. 32

Meera and I went out shooting for candid last thursday while I worked in the San Jose office. We didn't find much so we started heading back to the office when we found this young kid doing tricks on his skateboard while his dad videotaped him. We asked for permission and started shooting away. Don't be surprised if you see a similar shot. Meera might enter this challenge as well after a long time off. I borrowed her 100mm f2.8 lens and it rocks! I have got to get me one of these bad boys!

Post processing was simple. Shot in RAW and converted with RSE. Draganized the original file. Converted to lab color and desaturated. Painted back the color with the history brush. Dodge and burn, Ran through NI. Cropped. Stroke at 10 pixels and saved for web.

Hehehehehe! I've received a bunch of comments regarding my title. I apologize for my mistake. It is in fact a kickflip. I'm sorry as I am not all that familiar with skateboarding terms.

Nice action capture freezing him in mid air. That's a tight kick flip...did he land it? I like the selective desat. as well.

Of the two pics of this kid, this is the better. The isolated saturation on him and the shadows in the background make him stand out really nice. You egt the feeling that he is WAY up in the air. This is in my top level of pics.
