Regards from the Critique Club,
This is a neat image - I always like it when someone takes an unusual and creative approach to a challenge topic. I like the use of selective desat, I think that adds some pop to the image. Having the cable lead into the image works well.
The composition is good, but could I suggest a different composition by having the hand and red jumper cable a little farther apart? All of the contrasty parts of the image (Jumper, hand, distributor cap) feel sort of bunched to the upper left. It feels like the lower right half of the image just does not have anything much in it, the battery is featureless enough to act as sort of negative space. Not always bad of course, it just does not feel like it is doing much here. Maybe play with the angles with this in mind and see what you think.
I like the image overall; it is creative, and technically very good as well. Looking forward to seeing future images by you.
Rich.

Excellent photo in all respects. Love the desaturation and the visual impact of the leads and the copper. Good to see an off the wall doing well. |

Great angles and clarity, and the red and copper really do provide nice contrast. Very nice work! |

Very clever, especially after seeing endless images of kids/skaters jumping |

Lateral thinking well done. The image is generally nice and sharp. I am not sure about the focus around the negative terminal but then again it may be my eyes. Nice one. |

I like the selective desat and treatment on this photo. I'm not sure why, but it makes the photo kind of fun(I know sounds stupid). Well done! |

Great title. I had thought of something similar myself. Nice focus and the single sat of red really works. 7 |
