Oh yeah ... and my appologies to team 10D. I decided to use my Canon Powershot G2 instead of the 10D because of the flip up LCD screen. It was a lot easier to compose (from the ground up) with the flip up monitor.
Sorry team 10D, but GO TEAM CANON. :) |

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Another purty wibbon. Next goal ... get a nice yellow one. :)
Thanks for all the kind words. I guess I was a bit surprised of doing so well. Psycho is the only movie scene I could think of and time was running out. I guess it pays to just submit a shot for the fun of it, from time to time.
I had a score of 8.545 after 11 votes. I even took a screen print. lol. Here is the screen capture |

Solid 9 from me. I would have posed it and cropped it a bit higher - it looks like it's pointing at the baby, which is scary enough! I like that you have a victim but it's hard to figure it out in two seconds - it takes a few more (cuz most people aren't shaped like that). I love this photo and hate you for it! |

My voting criteria for this challenge are:
1. Did you capture a scene from the movie (as the challenge brief states) or did you enter a picture and fit a title to it.
2. How close a rendition is your image to the movie.
3. How does the image stand up in its own right.
In this case:
1. Pretty obvious that you shot this specifically for the challenge.
2. Almost spot on. I guess this is the scene most people remember, even those who haven't seen the film will know it. You've captured an image that screams its title without being titled.
3. Would this image stand up in its own right? Difficult to say as it's so closely tied to the film. Beginners should be told to look at this image as a photographic exercise in lighting and contrast.
Superb image. 10 |

Of all the attempts at Psycho in the challenge, this is by far the best. You have the knife, the silhouette of the girl in the shower, and perfect lighting. The only problem I see is that the original scene was at night wasn't it? Oh well, that would've been much more difficult to shoot. Great job! - 10 |

nice shot. love the foreboding silohuetted killer, as well as the very soft tones created in the shower curtain. the only thing i would change is where the hand aligns with the shower rod. i wish they didn't. :o) |

I see three times "psycho" in this challenge and yours is by far the best. A clear and threathening knife and the silhouette of a women in the background. Good use of light and shadow. Only suggestion for improvement : in the top right corner behing the hand and knife-end there is a dark object/shadow and because of that you can't see the outline of the knife any longer. It would have been better with a lighter background also in that corner. Can't vote yet but you would have gotten a 9 from me. |
