cute kid, real soft focus, lighting way out of balance. do these things matter? only in these are the first things i notice, as opposed to there being some candid storytelling qualities that make me look past the technicals. as rendered, i can't tell if you've caught a interesting moment or not. oh well. if your score isn't where you would like it to be, you might want to read this thread.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry in this challenge.

I don't get the title with the photo, as I really don't see anything sinister exuding from the boy, but I don't vote on titles anyway. So on to the photo. Children are far too easy to capture in candids. This one is no exception to the rule, however, they have to be exceptional in my book to qualify as a really good candid. This particular photo has good tones, but the focus is lacking quite a bit and the crop is too tight for my particular taste. It's a 4 vote from me.

This is a bit to soft around the features for me. There isn't much of a catch light in his eyes. Either filtered fill-flash or a simple reflecting device was needed to fill in the dark shadows obscuring most of his features. It's a nice expressive capture but the image quality is a bit lacking for me.
