This works well both ways up, and shows refraction nicely. I don't see just how you got the brighness in the glass, but perhaps the flash may have been reflected by something.

| Good job on making everyday objects interesting! With the picture being upside-down it made me think "what the heck is this". |

| This would be a lot crisper and much more appealing had the background been all white and set away from the subject a good distance so as not to create the shadows. |
