This wasn't really planned, but I knew we'd be high up on a mountain for my Yellow entry, so I brought along a toy airplane just in case I found a good scene. This stone lookout tower presented a good silo opportunity, and it came out nice enough that I didn't bother with my original challenge plan. The open window may look dangerous, but mommy has a firm grip on his ankle in the shadows to prevent any accidents.

Processing: Crop, levels, curves, pumped up the cyan and blue channels and desaturated the rest somewhat. The area around his legs seems a little cluttered to me, but cropping takes away too much and the striped shirt became a distraction if I left the midtones too light, so I darkened the shadows just to the point that most people probably won't notice the dim stripes. Too bad it wasn't Advanced Editing, though. :-(

Hard to predict where the score will go on this one, but I hope it's good enough to help my team out. Fingers crossed!

Brilliant shot Shannon and 'another' ribbon! yawn!

This is a captivating shot. My earliest childhood memory is playing with a plane something like this

Me too. Advanced Editing would have helped immensely with this shot. If I had dressed him in dark clothes, it would have helped. The yellow stripes on his shirt prevented me from opening up the foreground around his knees. :-(

Congrats. Personally, I would take your Yellow entry over this one in a heartbeat. Not to knock this one but rather to compliment your other one. :)

By far one if the most interesting entries. A complete story told in a charming silhoutte. 9

Excellent idea, well executed. I would like to lighten that dark bar across his knees (is that allowed in the competition ?)

I reckon you could give us a bit of the foreground without making sacrifice of the silouette. The image is sort of overall dark without actual merit.

Love the sillhoette, love the shot. The metal bars by his legs are a little bit distracting but that couldnt be helped. Good work! :)

I love the silhouette and implied motion. You even see a hint of a smile on the boys face. Lowering perspective slightly and eliminating the land in the background may make it a little more dramatic.
