Tried to create a classic looking picture, rather than taking "jump" literally I got this idea for "A Jump in Time". I hope people can appreciate this :).
As for editing goes, It's a Sepia colored layer with reduced opacity to let a minimal amount of the colors shine through. I also increased the contrast a bit.

Warm regards from the Critique Club.

It looks like you got hammered on this one by the "does not meet the challenge" factor, but don't feel too bad. Trying to think outside of the box, even if it does not work out, is a good exercise, so I commend you for that.

As far as the image goes, I think you did a fine job. The sepia tone fits well, and I really like the way the lines of the boat in the foreground lead into the boat in the background at contrasting angles. Good work, that. Maybe play around with boosting the contrast even more since this is such a texture oriended, low color shot.

I look forward to seeing more of your work, I like what I see here.

Rich.

I didn't see this as "a jump in time" it was more a capture of a period of time. For it to be a jump it needed to have the updated version in the shot. IMHO maybe that will help you understand at least how I felt and maybe others.

I'm really disappointed with this result...I think it's a great shot and one of the best in my portfolio, but apparently thinking out of the box is not appreciated here or people simply misunderstood. Thanks to the people who did understand and appreciated the shot with a good score though! :)

I gave your shot an 8... and I stand by it... what might have helped ppl think 'out of the box' was to title it.. a jump back in time.. but that's just my 2 cents worth.... Yeah, there are some technical imperfections but that's one of the reasons I like this shot.. keep on shooting these old relics please.

Beautiful composition, would have like a longer DOF, love the tones - Great crop too. 8

Cool shot but this is probably going to be a good example of thinking out of the box getting punished. Hopefully not though. 7

Old wooden boats such as these were the main source of income for so many before the huge trawlers stripped too much from the oceans.... I hope people continue to document them. Good job
