 What a great challenge. Gave me a chance to go back and look at my early digital pictures taken with my 2.5 meg Olympus 2500L. This was taken when I was just beginning to take pictures from an artistic viewpoint. This was one of my favorites back then. I had taken my son up to see his friend Shana at Vasser College in Poughkeepsie N.Y. Walking around the campus I found this amazing wall. The ball was sitting nearby. I put the 2 together and took a couple of shots.
The image was cropped, levels, curves, saturated, some dodgeing and burning, and cloning to remove minor imperfections.

wow, at Vassar! Now I'm trying to figure out where on campus that is. i'm amazed at how the end of the wall fades; because i can't see where the top of the wall ends, it appears to almost lead into a vanishing point! i think it would be super interesting if the left side of the wall was cropped so that we couldn't see the ground. then, the wall might appear to be much larger and more massive than it is! either way, i really like it. reminds me of the yellow brick road!

I love the balance of this image. Outside the challenge, I would edit out the bush into blackness like area behind the wall. Its a bit oversharpened for me - I see artifacts here and there, but it could look completely different in print. Composition well done. 8 - good luck in the challenge!
