Highlight and shadow - high -5, mid 5, shadow -5

Black polished stones in palm, coated hand in elmer's glue and then stuck it inside a bag of white pp resin chips, used remote with cam on tripod, one 250 watt boom above for light. Took a few shots to get hand in right position, one shot after that.

Post challenge: well it seems that some were bothered that the pinky doesn't show at first glance. I thought that gave this a bit more of a unique look. Oh well...thanks for the comments and votes.

Great idea with wonderful textures! I find it a little troubling that you have chosen a composition where it looks like the hand only has 4 fingers! Now go take a shower...

This is weird. I can't figure out what the black, shiny blob in the palm is. The missing digit really makes this odd. At first glance I thought this was a baseball glove. It's a very good capture of texture, I'll give you that. :D Very good lighting. I just don't relate to the asthetic (and I've been missing 1/4" of my right middle finger since I was 6 :D).

Okay.. well this does fit well into "texture" but... I'm kind of curious - there's a finger missing, and I can't quite figure out the black thing? Will come back and stare some more later. :)
