This has the potential of being quite a good shot. couple of issues though: the framing of the trees in the foreground where they should have really added to the dynamic of the scene have actually significantly detracted from it because of DOF. Also, a little more of the subject, the train, would have really added to this also. But the sharpness of the train is super, colours/tonal range is great, too. So part are there, just not quite. |

The red doesn't bother me... I can't get past the out of focus bush on the left, so I never concentrate on the red. The part of the train that is in focus is good. I agree with the comments about DOF in this one as well.
I think in all 3 of your pictures you this [ ] close, but they have several weak elements that throws off the rest.

Once more, MAJOR DOF issues here. IN photographinng models like this, you usally want more realism, not less. The train is admirably sharp, but the vegetation is so OOF that it is extremely unpleasing to look at. You also have a figure/ground issue at the front of the locomotive, where it is merging right into the shape behind it. Careful attention to lighting can solve this problem. |

cool image - nice angles and the train looks like one of mine :) I too have a problem with the red... i know that It is something in the scene but it looks out of place in the image |

I like this one a lot. I think only two improvements would be in:
1) Move the train just slightly to the left. The out-of-focus bit that is just to the top-right of the train keeps distracting me. Don't get me wrong, I *like* it there - the OOF parts really help focus your attention on the train. I just think that one piece is a little too close to the train.
2) The bit of red in the image lacks explanation... it's there, but why? Probably best to physically move it out of the frame, or else clone it out in post. |

Nicely done. This is an excellent model railroad shot in that it fools the viewer for a moment. I'd love to see thic cropped just to the left of whatever this is that's out of focus on the right side of the foreground. |
