I liked this shot. To make it better - hmmm - maybe cloneout some of the specs within the lamps to make it a bit cleaner and maybe a tighter crop on the sides. I love how the lamps just look like they are floating out there. And I think you took the shot atthe right time during the lamp cycle. Later on the lava would be in too many pieces and have a different effect. This has a cool feel about it. Very nice.

Really like the idea, wish the focus was tighter on the smaller image also, and maybe that one a little higher, but do understand you have to work with what you have. Overall nicely done

thanks for the comments! it is one lava lamp that I placed on my sink using a night stand. then i used the background mirror and a medicine cabinet mirror on the left to make the third reflection.

Very cool.
I want one of those.

The composition here is great. So are there three lava things? or are you very tricky with mirrors? Honestly the only thing I think you could have improved is the focus on the left.

I'm becoming a big fan of Neat Image and am wondering if it might have helped clean up some of the noise in the yellow areas -not really bad stuff, but it's the only thing along with the focus that I can see to keep this from a really high score. Good job.

This is a great shot, really holds my attention. Mostly because I'm trying to figure out how you did it, and what the setup was!

I assume it's three lava lamps positioned in a dark room? - If so then you did a good job of controlling the lighting to ensure that only the insides of the lamps were illuminated. A great idea with good visual impact, and you executed it well.

The composition really adds to this, and technically I can't find anything wrong with it.

Fantastic. It's a little rough in spots in the fore lamp, but otherwise, it kicks keester!

I hope your Jump shot isn't this good...should have scored higher than it did...

I like the composition, but would maybe balance the outer lamps by moving them out a little or cropping differently...

This is some shot, especially in terms of its difference! I like the overall composition and the way in which the lava lamps suggest an other worldly sensation. Personally - and what do I know? - I would have positioned the left hand lamp differently, probably higher with the righ hand lamp a little lower, just to drive the dynamics of the picture. A very clever image none the less.

In addition to liking the title, I thought the image was strangely sensual. I also like how you're created the distance to each of the other lamps. Now how did you do it??

I think that's a really nice shot, and I've no idea why it didn't score better. Not that 5.4 is *bad*, but I'd have figured on this one being more in the 5.7ish range. About the only thing I could think to improve it would be a vertical crop but that's just me.

Wow, at least I was beaten by a GOOD shot! I think the composition would have been a touch stronger if the "background" lamps had been just a touch farther apart. Excellent yellow entry, and congratulations on winning the first round :)

I liked this idea very much, but to me, the blobs seemed too soft, know that is probably because of the lamps themselves, but it is what I felt when I looked at it, gave it a 6 btw!
