Wow - what a powerful image. The minimal size of the skiier amidst the grandiose peaks really show man's insignificance. Love this alot!! Creatively speaking, the tiny subject is one of my favorite uses of the landscape as a backdrop. BRAVO |

A beautiful shot, with excellent detail in the mountains. B/W is a great choice for this scene. I understand this is a p/s camera, but for me, there is a very slight lack of clarity not present in your other lovely landscapes that may have been corrected in post. Some may find the overall effect "flat", but to me, the contrasts give it the subtlest dreamy feeling that enhances the subject hinted at by the title. One could have decided to go heavy on the contrasts, bringing out the textured landscape, but I prefer this. The wispy sky offers perfect balance to the rocks, and nicely reflects the smooth snow. My eye is drawn to the figure, not just because s/he's darker than the rest, but also because of the gentle sloping toward the path. Really quite satisfying and beautiful. |
