Regarding this quote from your 'Photographer's Comments': "All this doesn\'t matter, who reads how it was done if it is voted a 5.4.", I don't agree. Not after just looking through many of the photos in your Personal Bests portfolio. I really appreciate the time that you took to detail your post processing steps as well as what it took to get the shot in the first place.
Thanks for taking the time to help me learn how to better process my images. |

So awesome!!! You're my new hero. Before I read the how to I already new you rigged something up (actually I was thinking a squirt bottle because of the way you're squinting a bit in the background like maybe trying to make sure it got in front of and not on the lense) But, all that technical jargan on what you did with it on the computer.... way over my head. I learn fast but, I don't know. right now I can edit exposure, brightness/contrast, some color, crop and I'm still working on the size thing. Anyway.... Awesome photo!!

I'd say it did a darn site better than 5.4 - thanks for including a detailed explanation, even if I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. Fascinating that this is water, not ice as I (and many others) assumed. Extrememly creative - really like the DOF used and the fact you are NOT in focus. |

***Greetings from the critique club***
First off i have to say thank you for entering the challenge its what keeps this site going.
First off i must say i really enjoy your photograph
this is what i like the most first this really show you took the time and energy to creat a mignificant photo. and your score reflects that.
I dont really have any negatives, other then i think it would have been nice if you were in focus a litle bit more, but im sure thats easier said then done, i like the background,
what may have added to your score would have been a colorful shirt say yellow or red, that would be great.
sustains:
Great ideas, passion for your work, great discription of the photograph, and entering challenges for DPC |

Excellent Shot! The only 10 I gave out as a matter of fact! I read your comments but got lost in the gray layer stuff. Would you consider posting a tutorial, it sounds very interesting! I'd love to learn the technique! |

Amazing! I thought it must be an ice crystal but then I saw the drop down the bottom. This one is big on the 'wow' factor for me. Well done. Ribbon or at least top 10. |

This is REALLY good. If I looked enough, I could try and spell something with that stopped water. I just noticed all of the reflections of the guy in it. GREAT DOF. Bumping up. |

This is my second time through these refraction images. This is definitely different since it includes a frozen captured seemingly impossible moment and I can definitely appreciate something new in this challenge. I've seen enough single water droplets on glass and in nets in my life time :) ... Almost perfect: It seems just a hair out of focus and there are a few too many blown out areas but I think you've stil accomplished a wonderful image here. I can still see the repeated figure through the water (at first I thought it was ice). Filling the entire frame diagonally is quite appealling also. bumping up. |
