This is such a beautiful photo. How long have you had your FZ30?
I own the FZ3 and am just getting ready to buy the FZ30.

Good! Really good! I like the shot. Without the black and white, the effect couldnt be mad. Congratulations on the outcome. I'd give it a.... 9 :D

Very creative! I love the idea and the look on the child's face, but want for more DOF.

Nice idea, composition, DOF, expression, eyes. White pawn is just a little too in-your-face, further away or just slightly further right would be better.

Cute! I like it very much. I also like kids with chess and so.
Black/white is perfect

I really like this shot. The title of the photo is perfectly matched for the expression on the child's face. I think that B&W is a good choice, matching the black vs. white theme of Chess. I've seen this done low key before, but never high key ... I think the high key is a nice match for the youthfulness of the subject. Exposure appears to be very good! If I could offer a suggestion, it would be for stronger focus on the eyes, it looks a bit soft there. JMO.

Very cool picture, and nice expression on the boy. IMHO it would be better with some pieces other than pawns on the rightmost part of the board (it's a bit too plain). Also, I think a bit more contrast might be of help.

You need a stronger contrast...maybe play in curves a bit more. Nice perspective and dof though.

Intimist angle. Really nice shot.
I would just try to let the white pawn a little more sharp. Its excessive bluring disturbs the focus on the kid.

Interesting perspective. Even the out of focus pieces don't bother me. Good tonal range.

not sure if this is within the rules as it looks like the background has been taken out...but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt

Very well done. I like your focus and composition. Clever, too! 10.

Really like this. Probably my fav of the challenge so far. The slight tilt of the chess board really works in this instance. The kid's expression is priceless. The focus on him makes for great DOF. The more I look at it, the more I'm upping the score. ok... 10
