 The timer was positioned perpendicularly to a fluorescent light box (ie timer rests horizontaly with a very slight tilt, light box is upright). I then shot the timer's face at an angle that would show the light box's reflection at the space precisely flanked by the timer's hands. Finally, note that the circumference of the timer's glass face is bevelled. That's why there's an extra shadow angle at the 15 sec position.

As photo's go, this is a great image. It's very sharp, clear, and the contrast is great. For the challenge though, I'm afraid in the terms I'm using to vote, this doesn't exactly fit. You definatly get points for skill though!

beautifully shot - though obviously doesn\'t actually meet the challenge, despite your title. A good enough shot for me not to pull yyou down more than a single point for that though - 8. er ... 9 then. Any chance you could let me know about the lighting for this?
