There is a bee nest in our little statue and they fan themselves on hot days. Fast exposure made the wings stop.

So what did you attract them with? If anything, this seems a trifle too bright, and I wish at least one of the wasps had been included completely in the crop. At a guess, it looks like the autofocus caught the center of the shot because all the insects look slightly OOF -- some more than others. The glare along the top of whatever the things is they'er on isn't helping with the brightness problem, I think.

crisp, clear, very appropriate subject. my eyes are wandering a bit for the focal point.

a bit out of focus

Nice picture, not so scary!

I bet there was some fear when you got this close to them.

What a great capture!! good light, good clarity of the little buzzers, however I wish I knew what that green thing was and could see all of their bodies. But, this is a great job either way. :) 8 cthenk

This image is very sharp and clear. I can clearly see the fear that this would invoke. Nicely done. 9 BAMartin

Ohhh how I hate wasps! Great photo! Very minor problems, but as a shot of opportunity, this is VERY well done. 9 Swash

Nice photography and colors. I could definately see 'fear' for someone who has a phobia of bees. The close up works to the advantage. Great work.

Seems overexposed, try a different exposure settings (faster shutter mostly). Also your composure needs work -- all the bees are on the outside, you have no point of focus for viewers.

good composition...... creates fear. i thought I got surrounded by them !

I hate those guys! You have some problems with lighting, but otherwise a really cool photo.

Neat macro view of the yellowjackets. Not sure about them being cut off though, and also I'm not sure about that background.

This is great--really nasty bugs.

Nice picture but it looks as if it isn't a photo

Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! Definitely MY worst fear! The top evil creature is a little over exposed, but I wouldn't have wanted to hang around too long to get this shot so it's forgiven...lol.

very good macro. what are they crawling on? Tad bright at top, otherwise, very nice
