I got a similar picture of a similar dragonfly, I tried a different angle to get a bit of its face in the shot, but wound up with the winds out of focus. I like how the entire dragonfly is in focus. Always tough to do for me when shooting small things that are as wide as they are long, normally I don't like straight-on top shots of insects because that's how we usually see them everyday but in this case it looks good. BTW the best time to shoot a dragonfly is as early in the morning as you can get with the sun shining brightly as they need to sunbathe to gather energy for the day =] |

Great shot. It's really hard to get these nice and sharp. Nice color, but might want to boost the white level just a bit to brighten it. |

Great shot! The brighter diagonal on the right, whatever that is, is a bit distracting. The focus and detail on the insect is excellent and I even like that you got the shadow. |
