 Gotta love my Macro lens. Sigma 105mm EX F2.8 Macro.

Hand held. Pumped up the saturation a little bit with Photoshop to give it a bit more kick.

I know, out of 300 pics, there will be 200 bugs, but I hope to be top 10 in the bug pics. lol. I like it.

Well I was sooooooooooooooo happy to be one of the 3 in the top 10 without a bug!!! :o) Even with my poor little coolpix! LOL

Wow, fantastic. The yellow of the insect works well against the blue/mauve. Focus is great, shame the antennae arent in focus too, though. 9

Wow! Beautiful colors! Such a refreshing shot of a subject that has been done over and over again. Only thing that I really hate is that border. This pic stands out without it. I hope this at leasts places in the top five, my fav so far in the challenge. Great job!

I wouldn't have penalized you if a little more of the flower is also in focus (though I know the literal ones would have royally damaged your nice macro with sub scores).

This is one of the strongest insect macros I have seen recently. As with all insect macros, the visibility of the fine detail is extremely important, and you definitely captured that well here. The other element of this photo that really strikes me is the complementary colors. I can't recall seeing that in any insect macros that I have come across recently. To me, that is the single strongest element of this photo. The colors are simply meant to be displayed together.
