Hi Dawn, this is a great shot. This one looks like it was taken from Biddle Ranch Rd area. Somewhere near Edna Valley Vineyards. ANyway, I wanted to stop and shoot from here so many times, but I am always in a hurry to be somewhere. Great shooting and nice composition! |

First of all, nice use of the rule of thirds. You avoided placing the horizon in the center of the image. The cloudy sky is a good choice to fill 2/3 of the image. The colors are very nice. The yellow and blue compliment each other nicely. Also it's good that you have a foreground (post), midground (field), and background (mountains) subject. Not bad.

hahah fishing for compliments are we? This is very well done. I think it might have been even better however if you had waited around for some really interesting clouds to roll along. Who knows how long you would have been there though...... |
