::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.

First Impression - the most important one:
You must live somewhere wonderful to get a shot like this .. well done.

Composition:
This is ok .. but I would have like to have seen the horizon hit the thirds line ... I like that the horizon is straight and this is a really good thing - people are often marked down for this error.

Subject:
I am sure it meets the challenge - but I have not read the book :)

Technical (Colour and light):
Always good when it is nature taking its course. I like the DOF .. and I think that this sort of shot will always score reasoable.

To grow its vote?:
Hard to know .. .keep on shooting and enjoying what you are doing ... you are still new on here and I think doing well ... try to learn from the older members - take advantage where you can!

Summary:
Go for it ..

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

The grass in the forground helps to give depth and interest to your picture. It also helps to break up the monotony of the water.

Revisiting for my final look and comment. Lovely colour of the Sea and I think the forground foliage and touch of beach adds a lot of interest. The far off landmass looks good in the mist and that leads us out to sea nicely :) (bumping up 1)

I wish you had gotten more of that beach.
