Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.
First Impression - the most important one:
For 24 hours not bad ... but with minor improvements could do way better.
Composition:
Fotoman expressed it best .. change the shot to portrait and I would see a great improvement .. I found the background distracting - but it works ... also cropping the picture of what is not really needed helps a shot greatly.
Subject:
Meets the challenge although I am not sure that those are bi-focals.
Technical (Colour and light):
I like the lighting and think this has been done well ... the colours are a little wishy washing to me.
To grow its vote?:
Take note of what your commentors said .. and apply things that you learn on the way.
Summary:
Kep trying .. you are doing good - keep it up.

| very cute. Allow me to make a suggestion on composition though. This would have been a lot strong image in portrait (camera turned on side) with the subject filling the frame. |

| Nice job of working with what you have! I would suggest that you move the camera so that the back edge of the table is parallel with the bottom of the frame. Also, crop the right side so that you can't see the edge of the back drop. |
