I couldn't bring myself to vote on this image. Its too emotive to make a flippant gesture of voting. However, it effected me and I was keen to return to the image and read the notes following votes closing.

I am a nurse who has worked in operating theatres for years and seen many a premature baby delivered. I have frequently been truly astounded by the amazing stories of survival these incredible little people achieve. Keep that in mind while your little boy grows stronger and has bad days, too.

Thanks for all the comments and condolences. This picture was done the day I recieved her "Death Certificate" and this was probably the first time I can actually say I shot what I was truely feeling. I did not expect it to do as well as it did considering the lighting and the bad raw conversion.

This is actually my first entry and I hope my future entries to be less heavy-hearted!

Jason, I'm so sorry to hear about your tragic loss. I'll be hoping that your daughter continues to look over her brother. Best wishes.

Hey. Condolences. I've got a cousin who went through this with his first child. She lived 5 days.

They were pretty happy for the first 2 years of marriage before this, but it was a bit of a downhill slide for them after that.

I just found out that they split up in the last few months.

Having one that survived will be your source of strength. Work hard to keep happy.

I expected this picture upper in the final list. Is a very strong picture and left me thinking, and impressed, and with tears in my eyes. It might not be the most technical picture, but I'm sure it is the most expressive. Gave it a hard 10.
