Our next door neighbour has a beautiful garden and our own really pales in comparison. We can only spy on their garden through the picket fence and feel extremely jealous.

if your subject is the glimpse and the glimpse of a garden, why is the garden not in focus?

this would ahve been really good if you had more depth of field and the flowers were really sharper

I think this would be improved if the depth of field were better. If the flowers inside were in focus too I would really like the contrast of the stone and flowers.

hmmm.... for this picture to be effective you need the flowers to be in focus as well....
Step back increase aperture and zoom in....

this may have worked better for me without having the flowers blurred

Hmm. I kinda like your idea, but I'm not sure whether or not it succeeded. A couple reasons. First, the topical angle -- not only is the thing we're directly looking towards flowers, but we're obviously outside, not in, the garden. I haven't been quite as strict about the latter as I could have been but does make the topical connection looser for me. Second... I think reversing the focus would've made more sense -- the sharp focus on the thing we're supposed to be looking toward, not the barrier. On the other hand, the focus on the barrier may be part of your statement. If so, I have to say I would've liked to have seen more of the barrier -- a shot from further away, basically.

Nice use of framing, but I think the frame should have been blured and the flowers in focus.

I wish the focus was switched, (the fence out of fucus and the garden within in focus), as if the viewer were trying to peek in.
