If this is really from 1924 I think you're going to be dq'd. but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and score you high for a compelling portrait. |

I normally vote all the way through before I begin to comment, but had to comment on this now. It looks almost like a magazine or newpaper photo that has been scanned. I'm not certain about the processing you may have used for this shot, but I am certain that I do not care for it. The photo is generally very soft, and to me, messy looking; and her eyes are absolutely dead center, which I also do not care for. My eyes are drawn more to all the "stuff" in the photo, than to the subject itself. Had this been a crisp candid, especially if you could really see her eyes well, I would have given it a better score. 5 |

the face is great, but it's so low quality (it looks like a picture of a newspaper clipping) |

I can see someone's been experimenting with effects in Photoshop... doesn't do it for me, sorry! |

The newspaper effect and noise is rather typical for 1924, a little excessive imo though..like the expression |

Wow, this is a great choice of processing for this image. Good job. |

Very striking. The grain adds interest. I like it a lot. |

First off I really like how you made this grainy. I really makes for a well done period shot. The subject is interesting and makes me want to know more about her. The only thing drawing my eye away from her is the light above her head. IMHO it's just too bright. Still I like this shot, and perhaps a slight change in composition would really make it have some added punch. |

Interesting processing. I like just the hint of crease in the forehead, eyes, cheek as opposed to emphasizing it. |

What where your trying to do here? This just looks like you scanned a newspaper page, awful. |

nice idea but the shot should have been more interesting/dynamic. |
