| I don't find the ice and cold to be comforting. Then add a stark B&W photo on top of that. This exact same photo in June would be very comforting. |

| a very well taken picture, nice lighting, good crop use of 3rds rule etc. May get hammered by the DNMC's though as this looks cold and forboding rather than comforting. |

| Great shot- this really evokes winter and works so well in b & w .... but... I totally fail to see anything comforting, sorry. Comfort implies warmth, security, nurturing - the complete opposite of winter. Such a shame, this would have got top marks from me in a winter or 'cold' challenge. |

| wonderful shot. focal length superb, exposure great. althoug, living on the same coast as this pic was taken (i think), i'm not so sure about the comfort factor! |
