Thanks BearMusic and Muckpond for turning me on to the duotone technique in the forums.

Taken in Sedona AZ, the lighting just happened to be perfect!

Used channel mixer to get the shading I wanted and converted to duotone using black and a custom redish orange. Minor levels adjustment, re-size and sharpen.

given the tones I think your shot is hampered by the black foreground..it draws my eye away from the shot..
and so while the tones are well done I have difficulty finding what it is I am supposed to focus on..I didn't even see the bridge, until I read one of your comments...

Crisp and clear - however, I find the foreground distracting.

Very nice tone choice for subject. Found the detail, generally, was too oversharpened.

It's too bad this was a basic editing challenge. A little dodging on the bridge could really make it stand out more from the background.

Nice picture, but I don't think this works in Duotone. The Bridge and background are too close in colour making them hard to distingish. I think this would look much nicer in full colour.

excellent shot. This is just a little nitpicky comment but i would have liked the crop a tad tighted so that where the shadow on the tree at the very bottom is would have been cut off

Not a great lighting condition as the landscape looks 'flat'. No depth from shadows.

the bridge portion gets lost in this picture. you have to stare at it a bit to see it.

Not a very exciting shot.

I don't like the framing. The mountains in the background draw away the attention from the main subject.
