A couple of 'hole-saws' photographed under soft lighting (macro setting). Coverted to grayscale, sharpened a pinch, and bordered.

Fantastic tonal range... and plenty of contrasts. The sharp teeth of the hole saw against the roundness of the rest of the saw, and the contrast in the background and lighting all are VERY nice. --10

The tones here are perfect as is the lighting.

Well lighted, with good contrast, and dof. My only nitpick is that I think the shadow shouldn't have been cut off. Minor....picky, picky, picky. But I won't dock any points for it. :-)

that is a really hard work to say! lol. superb photo. I find myself looking hard at it even though it doesn't interest me in the slightest. great lighitng. could be slightly improved compositionally, as i don't like where the shadows fall and it seems a bit heavy on the left. 8

Beautifully done, but there's no contrast between these two elements, which was rather the point of the challenge. Would have made a wonderful duotone entry.

nice setup, good choice. Keeping in mind that it is excellent, still feel an angle further around to the right would help, to get the whole shadow in frame
