 i would have loved for this to be a member challenge so i could use the extra rules.

post processing- converted from RAW(rawshooter ess), cropped, resize, curves, convert to grayscale, levels, convert to duotone(black / PANTONE 1345 C), convert to RGB to save as jpeg, neatimage.

Nice wingspan. I think the light could have been better to really get the wing contours and the sharp contrast.

...sheer elegance...I don't think I've ever seen a heron made of platinum...and so the beauty of the the light and chosen tones goes without saying...simply gorgeous...

The lighting on the wings is really nice. The tonal range is good as well as the contrast. Also, there's a good sense of depth to the picture created by the DOF. A really good photo.

I would like the super-dark background better if the foreground grass wasn't so dominating. As it is, the grass/background is hurting the composition.
