My first entry here in a couple months. I hope my previous trend continues. So far every photo of mine has done better than the one before it. Gotta beat a 6.159...

The duotone was achieved with lighting and a warm white balance. I used a curves adjustment layer for contrast and a little extra color. Also used Neat Image for the first time-- I think that's legal. Very minor crop, resize, unsharp mask, and a border for personality. I just wish I could get rid of the dead pixel in the upper right!

Ouch, I have the same dead pixel problem with my camera (though mine generates about 10 of them--be thankful you only have one XP). Since it's basic editting I think dead pixels are easily forgiven, though.

Anyway, I really like this shot, the lighting is very well done. I love the viginette feel, and the top of the screw head really stands out. It's got a very abstract feel to it, but it doesn't seem sloppy or chaotic, either. A couple of the hotspots are a little distracting, but not too much to affect it overall. I only wish it were a little easier to make out the figure of the sax player.
