Thank you everyone for the most encouraging comments. I guess the topic police did get me ;)
For anyone who is interested this portrait of my son who is 5 and a half was done using lights from 2 reading lamps fitted with ordinary tungsten bulbs. Since I did not have a proper black backdrop I seated him in front of an open door of a darkend room. To cut reflection from the left side a clothes rack with a dark bedsheet was kept on the left. Finally to get the jaw line on the dark side the white door at th back was angled just enough |
