I hope nobody takes this to offensively, I absolutely love this incredible country. I never intended on touching nerves, just expressions.

Dude, I think this pic is excellent. I agree with mad_brewer. POlitically loaded messages, especially the ones that do not portray ones country in a nice, warm and fluffy light tend to be discredited. gutsy stuff. u had my 10.

Mad brewer, you hit it dead on, and you may of said it better than I could of TY.

I have also been called arrogant, which I accept apologetically. And wanted also to say that, I have with no intention intended on disrespecting any military personell. We are all here for seperate reasons, and to walk different paths. My point is, that American life shouldn't be any more endeared than others that walk parallel to our own.

I give you a lot of credit for taking a chance and making a statement. I actually expected more of a bimodal distribution - mostly 1 or 10 votes.

I interpreted it as meaning that some of us have pride in our country, and will blindly follow, even if we use our powerful military and arrogance to bully other nations.

Perhaps you can give some insight into what you meant?

In my opinion, when you posted this to a challenge about the deadly sin of pride, you are saying that our nation's miltary is prideful to the level of being sinful... and for that inference I have to doubt your disclaimer about truly loving our country. Your arrogance and utter ungratefulness for the lives of our military mean and women, past and present that have paid for our freedoms with their lives and their wounded bodies is astounding, to the point of being sickening.

I didn't get the Green Day reference. Sorry. My comments made during the challenge still stand. Picture was good, but title didn't help.

You'll undoubtedly get all sorts of comments on your statement, but the fact remains that this a superbly composed image.

Nice comp, however the political message and focus issues really detract.....

Photo would have impacted more if it were less noisy and colors less muted

This would be great without the noise.

You went overboard with the title, it may offend people, instead of making them think. The picture is a good one, and carries the message better than any words. I think that simply calling it "Pride" would have been sufficient.

Well staged

NEGATIVE ONE MILLION for the green day reference. Green Day's message is contradictory, considering what they had to do to get people to hear it. They are a product of corporate America. i dunno, maybe you didn't reference green day on purpose

Controversial! I won't get political about it but I will say kudos for the courage in presenting an image that's going to garner a LOT of angry reaction. Very grainy, I'm assuming that's intentional? In terms of composition I really like the sweep of the barbed wire but find the positioning of the bullets a bit too centred.

It's good to see a photo that has something to say about the broader world. While it might not go so well here due to the content, keep at it because to me one of the real purposes of photographs (like music) is to make a statement and make people think (regardless of which side of the statement anybody is on).

INteresting... Im sure you'll get a lot of comments with this one. The composition is good although the bullets could use a little work with their spacing and the stripes/stars accross the top are a little off kilter. Also image grain is a problem here. I personally could have voted this at least one or two points higher had it just been titled "American Pride". I think the voters would have caught the sarcasm. Instead, by titling it "American Idiot(pride)" this only serves to insult the viewer's intelligence.

That being said, still a good composition, although lacking technical precision. BTW, this was the first picture on my voting page, what a fun one to start with.

This is an extremely thought provoking photograph. I am not sure if the bottom line of red is less in focus than the other ones or if it is my computer. Assuming it is I, I vote a solid ten.

We don't use barbed wire anymore. It is razor wire, which we also call concertina wire. But point well made.

Great reference to the Green Day song. I'm afraid people's politics are going to get in here, although I agree with your take on it.
