| To me, the way the fingers are splayed, your photo gives me more of a menacing impression rather than hope, but that's just me. I think it's also the shower curtain-like background that adds to the overall effect. |

| Seems to imply "grasping for hope". The use of black and white here tends to impart more of a hopelessness to me. |
