* Greetings from the Critique Club *
First up! Welcome to the DPC community and congrats on your first entry!
You learnt a very hard lesson here with your first photo. It suffered here obviously because of the size of the image. As per the comments you received, always take advantage of the 640 x 640 size. It's great to see that in your second challenge entry you took note of this and it scored so much better.
Looking at the picture itself I find the fence in the foreground somewhat distracting. It would of been nice to have had it framed so that it wasn't in the image or to have cropped it out with software.
The colours of the image look really nice though it's hard to tell just how sharp it is because of the size limitation you have put on it. I find the sky looks slightly overblown as well (only slightly)!
The overall image portrays a tranquil farm setting and it's very peaceful. It was really the size here that didn't allow people (myself included) to take it all in and admire it to it's full potential.
Best of luck with your future entries and obviously the lessons you have learned here will take you a long way. Well done.

A neat shot with all of the lines of fencing and horses. Unfortunately, it's a bit too small to really be able to appreciate all of the details. |

Yes. This is the landscape that goes with bluegrass. Effective shot but small size is a problem. |

The image is too small to enjoy the view. The composition looks nice. |

You put yourself at a great disadvantage with such a small thumbnail. Look in the tutorials for proper techniques to submit a photo. Looks quite nice but I think a different crop may have been helpful. |

A little too small to really tell whats going on could be a nice photo with the fence lines running in all directions. |

You're gonna get burned for such a small picture (even though it is pretty good). 6 |

The photo is small so it's hard to really appreciate the detals of the farm. |

A nice broad view of a pastoral scene. Pic size needs to take advantage of the full 640 pixels on the longest side to let people see the picture better. |

Sorry dude/dudette. You've committed the cardinal sin of not using as much of the allowable entry size as possible. You'll be heavily penalised by the voters for this. See a link in the FAQ on how to best resize your entries and wish you better luck on your next entry |

This picture has no impct due to size, another thing to take into account is straigtening when a fenceline creates the frame for the shot. |

This looks like Lexington Kentucky ??
This is a beautiful shot , I just wish you had size it 640 X 427 or 640 X 480 .
It is much to small. I will not take off for the size. I am going to give you a 7 for this photo.

I voted you a 3.
Yes I know, very low, but this is too small to judge, keep in mind that you can post pics up to 640 pixels! |

Aawww, such a shame this photo is so tiny! Make sure to use at least very close to your allowance of 640 pixels on the long side. |
