Critique Club:
The idea is good. The green vs yellow looks good. There are a few things that could have done better. The lighting is a bit harsh. Softer lighting would have worked better because the subject is quite soft. I think the background is a bit distracting. I think if the background were more out of focus it would improve the picture. And the focus seems to be a bit off. The autofocus probably caught the leave instead of the fruit. Perhaps a close crop would have made it better as well. Maby just 2-3 fruits in the picture.
Keep up the good work. Love your "Le temps se tient toujours (Time stands still)" shot in the Romance competition. |

Your flash appears a bit harsh. A different lighting source might produce a better result. |

The problem you have with this is that the auto-focus has picked the leaves instead of the fruit. In voting, that is going to cost you a couple of voting points. Then it is also likely that since these could be in a city garden or a rooftop apartment garden, you're going to loose points for the image not being able to prove that it's in th country. Then there will also be those who don't feel that fruit show 'life'. So it's an uphill battle and this is a tough school. |

As with the other photo of lemons, it really doesn't give a feeling of country life even if it is in the country. In terms of the photograph the harsh shadow cast is a bit off putting |

This does not depict country life to me. I live in the city and I have a lemon tree too. This picture could have been taken in my back yard.
Also flash lighting is too harsh. Try using a tripod and making a longer exposure to get natural light. Keep trying. |

Interesting shot, but the lemons don't seem as sharp as they could be. |
