 This is actually the inside of an outdoor solar garden light. What you can see is the diffuser in the middle. The black bands are the outside pattern. I simply ran a strobe from behind it and right with a blue gel.

Sweet. I would have never thought of photographing and seeing something like this Neil. I think DOF could be better. f16 or even f22 would have ekpt everything in focus. I think the lack of it up front is what hurt it a tad.
