 I almost submitted this to the wildlife challenge, but at literally the last minute, I decided to submit an entry in the Tribute challenge instead because I'd done one so much like this before. I love these birds tho against a fairly dark background. Its such easy editing. You just increase the shadows and since the bird is so white, it stays pure white while the background darkens right up. The birds are so ordinary, but that techniques makes them look downright extraordinary :)

This one is a snowy egret. I love the plummage they have on their heads. They always looks like such regal little birds. You are right - with the black background this is a perfect shot!
