I posted a more detailed explanation of this shot in the forums during voting. I'm glad so many people liked it! |

My guess on this during voiting was this was shot thru a piece of frosted/patterned glass. One of my favorites! Nice work! |

I just read your post on the forums. For what it is worth, I did not think you cheated, and I thought it looked like a "scratched mirror." (What does that tell you about some of the mirrors at my house?) This is totally awesome, and I may try something like it with my son and husband. Sorry people tried to DQ you. This shot deserves to be a winner, but unfortunately, many people do not read the forums, and will never know. karmat |

This is a very original photo ... 10 for creativity, 10 for composition, 10 for post editing ( cropping, brightnes correction, etc) |

Thanks for the explanation as to how you had done it... without it was hard to tell if it was photoshopped, or a photo of a painting of some sort (my thought), or something else. I guess the fact that is was hard to tell just shows how creative the photo was! |

A haunting, interesting photo. Is that a ps filter, or is there a peice of glass between the camera & subjects. The connection to transperancy is quite thin, keeping this from getting my highest marks, but because it is such a strong image, I still must give it a 9. Very nice work. |

This is a great picture, how did you take it? The only thing IMO that could be better are the highlights in the little girls hair are washed-out, one of my top ten picks this week. |

Congrats! This pic was #145 to download and was my first 10 on the first pass through. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC ! I love this shot. Now, I will review my other votes and there will be other 10's, but this has to be the winner. You must be very proud! |

Incredibly well thought out. Light of the small child, the white, the blond hair and the juxtaposition of the dark older woman..all behind a veil. Very artsy interpretation of the challenge and one of my 10 best. hokie |

Very interesting. I do like the screen - or whatever that is. I think in this case it adds to the photo, instead of being something that you put in front to meet the transparency requirement. I'm interested to know how you did this. Nice job. |

I have been reserving my comment on this photo because I don't know how it was legally done. I really do love the appearance of the subjects of this image. I don't particularly care for the effect, mainly because of the color of the effect. It just doesn't seem to fit for me. I score this photo a 7 - jmsetzler |

Nice image. I wish I knew how it you did it. It looks like you used some sort of photo-editing filter (can't be the case). |

Wow! Nice concept! I think a little too heavy on the effects though but still a very nice image. Photoshop? I assume. |

Very nice photo! This works very well. I really like the artistic effect and the mood. The only problem with it that I see is that the very bright clothing and light hair on the girl have caused some exposure problems. It might have been better if the two switched around so the girl is on the side with the heavier frost (or whatever it is). |
