Greetings from the Critique Club:

Composition: I think the placement of the subject in the shot is very well done. Nice offcenter layout with the shadow looking into the shot drawing me back to the middle.

Post-processing: I feel like the contrast on this is a little low. Since the subject is the shadow I think it should be very stark since as it is the difference between the background and the subject isn't very dramatic.

Pose: The angle of her head looks artificial with respect to the placement of the 'flower'. It looks like she's trying to smell the flower but is too far away. I personally feel it would have been stronger had she had her head up a little more and had the flower closer so it looked like it was the subject of her attention.

Color: Great use of color here...the purple wall adds interest to the shot that would definitely not be there with a bland color.

Overall, I like this shot. It has some interest and met the challenge well. I hope this critique is helpful.

maybe the color, it looks very "romantic" to me :)

I like this one, really nice, you could've used photoshop to make the shadow even more pronounced, but I think thats an excellent shadow pic.

Nice idea. Interesting use of the purple. I like the clean, simple yet bold composition. The title works well with the pose, how the subject is facing the left, symbolizing a more introverted look at the past. I'm wondering if maybe some levels tweaking could make the shadow just a little darker and stronger, maybe strengthening the presentation a little? Although, maybe your intent is to maintain a softer, more delicate feel. Nice job :-)

this is one of my favorites in the group - like the title and the simplicity - nice quality - even the border works - good job :)

Pleasant, subtle colours. THe impression I get is not of being pensive, but that of surrender, for some reason.
