Had three bouquets of tulips I bought over the past week. I shot two of the three, the one set I really did not like the color so much. I used one of the two remaining elsewhere...hint, wink, nudge...so you got these.

My choices...and this should floor you...were flowers or abstracts....the abstracts just have not been doing so well and I really like how this macro of yellow tulips turned out. Lit over head and from the sides with 4 clamp lamps with 100w halogen bulbs in each. Shot in macro mode, no close up filter and hand held for angle. Since they were so light in color the speed combined with my elbows setting on the shooting surface made for good shots sans tripod.

Post: Open. Layer adjustments for levels (20% opacity) brightness/contrast and hue/saturation (both 50% opacity). Crop. Burnt a batch of light blue near the center as I liked the limited color palette. Neat Image. Sharpen. Resize. Sharpen.

I like the concept. I think I would have liked it better if the yellow tulips were lower in the picture.

7 - Nice. Nice color(s). Criticism; difficult, as the best focus is on the leaves/straps, which looks intentional, but perhaps if just a fraction more detail in either the middle or right flowers/color may have made this even better in my opinion. Maybe some more light 'play' incorporated. More finely tuned cropping bottom left corner too.

Wonderful macro! I really like the way you cropped in to fill the image with color. Very simple and elegant, nicely done. I also like how you appreciated the powerfulness of the colors and didn't kill it with a border - good decision. The lighting really made this shot for you, nice job.

Wow! I love the composition on this one. It's striking and jumps out at you. I can realy see this matted and framed hanging in a sunny yellow kitchen. Great job.
